Weirdly, my son doesn't want a smart phone. But he does hang out on Discord with his buddies--who all happen to be in Europe. Reminds me of the old forum days so I'm OK with it.
There's a part of that wonders if being "Very Online" in the sense that I am, or even in the sense that we imagine a Kardashian is, is becoming passé. My Zoomer siblings, for example, are nowhere near where I am, and it feels like they never have their phones. I suspect it's across racial/class lines more than people think.
